Description

Commission includes among the other members, one citizen member from each of the state's eight military installation regions to be appointed by the Governor. The commission will advise the Governor and the General Assembly on defense and military issues within the state and make recommendations regarding policies and plans to support the long-term viability and development of the military, both active and civilian, in this state; develop methods to assist defense-dependent communities in the design and execution of programs that enhance each community's relationship with military installations and defense related business. This body includes members of the military community ensuring unique operational requirements and military family issues are considered across pertinent policy areas.
