Postsecondary In-state Tuition Continuity R.S. 17:2137 (A) and (B) provide as follows: §2137. Tuition fees for members of the armed forces and dependents and for certain individuals who have served in the armed forces; resident classification A. A child or spouse of a member of the armed forces of the United States stationed in Louisiana on active duty shall be entitled to resident classification for tuition purposes at any state college or university without regard to length of time of residency in the state. B. A child or spouse of a member of the armed forces of the United States who has been assigned to duty elsewhere immediately following assignment to duty in Louisiana shall be entitled to resident classification for tuition purposes at any state college or university for as long as the child or spouse, as the case may be, continuously resides in Louisiana after the Louisiana duty assignment of the parent or spouse.
