Registry of Motor Vehicles Online Renewal:

On March 26, 2018 the Massachusetts Register of Motor Vehicles changed the process to obtain or renew any driver’s license, ID card, or learner’s permit. Signed by Governor Charlie Baker, the new process allows all Massachusetts residents to renew their driver's license online, pending submission of a legal presence document, i.e. - a Massachusetts issued ID card, driver's license or REAL ID card. Online vehicle registration is also open to every Massachusetts resident within the same Register of Motor Vehicle portal.
