Description

The Maine Military and Community Network is a statewide network of services, state leaders, and military representatives that have come together in an effort to understand, prevent, and address challenges faced by current and former military service members as well as their families. MMCN consists of eleven regional groups across the state, and membership includes: local law enforcement, education officials, VA representatives, State Veteran Services representative, National Guard representative, Department of Labor participants, Family Readiness and others. The MMCN participates in Maine's Hire A Vet Campaign, is a leader in Suicide Prevention and Awareness coordination, and connects the military community with community resources and various state agencies, which can improve the overall quality of life for service members and their families. Each year, the MMCN hosts an annual conference, at which they invite state leaders, members of Maine's Congressional Delegation, Legislators and State Agency heads to share policy successes, best practices, and future endeavors that may benefit Maine's military community.
