Public Outreach Program:

The Maine Department of Health and Human Services Office for Family Independence does outreach work to Maine veterans in all public assistance programs, with particular focus on Medicaid. Their public assistance application includes questions regarding past military service, and they receive files from the Department of Veterans Affairs on a quarterly basis to compare to our public assistance rolls.
