Remote Driver's License and Vehicle Registration Renewal (Driver's License):

North Carolina permits military personnel and their dependents that reside out of the state due to military orders to renew their driver's license by mail no more than two times during the license holder's lifetime. A license renewed under these conditions will expire 60 days after the license holder returns to North Carolina.
