An act relating to the Vermont National Guard Tuition Benefit Program: H517

Act 140 of 2022 contained provisions sponsored by Senator Kesha Ram and Representative Maxine Grad which create a state sponsored recognition program for military friendly schools, allow advance enrollment of military dependents via remote registration, and provide in-state tuition continuity for college age dependents whose parents are transferred out of the state. When signing, Governor Phil Scott said, “Whenever we have the opportunity to support those who devote themselves to protecting our state and nation, we should take it. This bill takes important steps to benefit members of our National Guard, building on progress we made several years ago, while also helping their family members.”
