The Purple Star School program is established within the Arizona Department of Education to identify schools in this state that provide transition support to military students and their families. The department may adopt policies and procedures to implement this section.

HB 2094 allows private employers in Arizona to adopt a voluntary veterans' preference.

A pupil complies with the residency requirements for school attendance in a local education agency if the parent of the pupil is transferred to or is pending transfer to a military installation within this state while on active military duty pursuant to an official military order.

The Arizona board of regents shall develop policies to require the universities under the jurisdiction of the board to award academic credit that a current or former member of the United States military may use toward the pursuit of a baccalaureate degree.

On October 26, 2021, the Defense-State Liaison Office confirmed with the state that the Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS) outreaches to the relevant military base to report allegations of abuse or neglect involving military Service members. DCS also maintains MOUs with the military bases in Arizona, which cover specific protocols regarding the handling of allegations of child abuse or neglect on and off the military installation.

A spouse or a dependent child does not lose in-state student classification under this subsection if the spouse or dependent child qualifies for in-state tuition classification at the time the spouse or dependent child is accepted for admission to a community college

Adds the Space Force to the definition of "Armed forces of the United States" within the Arizona Revised Statutes.
