Florida joins Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact

This law requires parents who establish a home education program in Floria to file a written Notice of Intent with the local school district superintendent within 30 days of establishing residency or the program, identifying the student(s) being homeschooled.

This law allows homeschool students to participate in interscholastic extracurricular activities at the public school they are zoned to attend, provided they meet the same eligibility, conduct, academic, and residency requirements as enrolled students. Homeschool students must be registered with the school district, maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined by their home education program, and comply with school and district participation rules. The law ensures equal access to activities such as athletics and clubs but does not require enrollment in the public school to participate.
