The Purple Star Award recognizes schools that show a major commitment to students and families connected to our nation’s military. A school will be honored with the Purple Star Award if it completes all the required activities and one optional activity. Representatives from Idaho’s State Council will decide a school’s eligibility for the award.

Adds to and amends existing law to provide for advance enrollment in or registration at a public school or charter school by dependents of military members.

Allows for the occupational licensure and academic credit for servicemember training and experience.

In accordance with the provisions of Section 811 of Public Law 99-145, all reports of possible child abuse, neglect, or abandonment involving an Armed Forces member or member's spouse, will be reported by the local field office responsible for conducting the assessment, to the Mountain Home Air Force Base Family Advocacy Program representative.

This legislation updates Idaho Code by adding "space force" to the list of U.S. Military branches of our nation's armed forces.
