A private employer may have a voluntary veterans' preference employment policy.

The Purple Star Award Program focuses on strengthening the resilience of Kentucky’s military-connected youth and ensuring that their social, emotional, and academic needs are met. It is a partnership of 18 agencies in the state. The goal of the program is to create and sustain a statewide support system within schools and communities that work together to build resilience and support for military-connected youth in Kentucky by partnering with schools and communities to foster diverse, inclusive, and supportive environments for military-connected youth and families.

Licensing and crediting agencies may issue a license, certificate, or other document to a United States military service member or veteran who is seeking a license, permit, certificate, or other document under this section and has met certain criteria.

Amend KRS 159.075 to include parents or guardians who are transferring to a reserve component or separating from the military under honorable conditions; include a home under contract to be built as a qualifying residence; allow qualifying students to temporarily reside outside of district if the housing is unavailable and be included in the attending district's average daily attendance.

Amend KRS 164.2844 to allow an Armed Forces member, spouse, or dependent maintain resident status of in state at the time of acceptance
