Ensure Extracurricular Access Final Legislation
North Dakota law 15.1-23-16 states "A child receiving home education may participate in extracurricular activities either: a. Under the auspices of the child's school district of residence; or b. Under the auspices of an approved nonpublic school, if permitted by the administrator of the school." This includes JROTC programs. Parents must file a Statement of Intent Form (SFN 16909) and wait five days before beginning home education. However, there is no deadline to file the form upon arrival in the State of North Dakota.
