New York's expanded P20 Statewide Longitudinal Data System was unveiled in January 2026, providing cross-sector information access across early childhood, K-12 education, postsecondary education, and the workforce. The system has expanded and standardized data disaggregation to support military-connected children, ensuring families are empowered with the knowledge they need by clarifying requirements, enhancing communication efforts and streamlining access to information. The system was developed using a grant from the National Center for Education Statistics.

To ensure information about the Education Compact is easily obtained and understood by military families, New York developed policies to maintain updated information and related resources about the Education Compact on a webpage dedicated to military families

New York's Department of Veterans' Services has established and funded a state-sponsored Purple Star Schools recertification program that supports implementing four core pillars: a military-connected student liaison, peer-to-peer transition support, online military-family resources, and military cultural competency training for faculty and staff. This advances education policy implementation by putting state resources behind local implementation of the Purprle Star model, and requiring participating schools to make military-family friendly resources and support information accessible online. Additionally, the Department is launching a comprehensive state-level webpage for the program.
