In March of 2023, Governor Glenn Youngkin signed legislation sponsored by Delegate Briana Sewell which added Virginia as a signatory to the Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology Interstate Compact.

In 2024, Virginia became the fourth state to enact the Cosmetology Compact, thanks to legislation sponsored by Delegate Jackie Glass.

Thanks to Delegate Jackie Glass, Virginia joined the interstate licensing compact, which allows school psychologists to use their existing license to show another member state that they are qualified through the compact to receive a license. The compact commission will facilitate the transfer of documentation from the sending state to the receiving state and the state will grant the school psychologist the closest equivalent license.

Thanks to Delegate Jackie Glass, Virginia became the fourth state to enact the Interstate Massage Compact, which allows military spouses to work in compact states via a multistate license. The development of the compact was funded by the U.S. Department of Defense.

Thanks to Delegate Jackie Glass, Virginia joined the interstate licensing compact, allowing eligible teachers to use a single multistate license, reducing duplicative state licensing requirements, processing delays, and relocation costs for military families and all practitioners of the occupation, and strengthening workforce mobility and military readiness.

Virginia became the sixth state to enact the Physician Associate Licensure Compact thanks to legislation sponsored by Delegate Jackie Glass. As of April 2024, now that seven states have adopted the compact, it can become fully operational and begin issuing compact privileges.

Thanks to Senator Ghazala Hashmi and Delegate Jackie Glass, Virginia became the sixth state to enact the Social Work Licensure Compact in April 2024. The compact will become operational when seven states have adopted it.

The Virginia General Assembly Military and Veterans Caucus sponsored legislation including military spouses within the state's comprehensive veterans hiring program, which assists businesses with attracting, hiring, training and retaining veterans, and now, military spouses.

This groundbreaking legislation recognizes an often-overlooked dimension of military spouse employment: entrepreneurship. Under a law sponsored by the Virginia General Assembly Military and Veterans Affairs Caucus, this law creates a framework to support these enterprising individuals by ensuring their businesses have fair access to government contracting opportunities. By defining “military family-owned business” in statute, it creates clear eligibility criteria that can be consistently applied across all public bodies. The prohibition against discrimination ensures these businesses compete on a level playing field, while the requirement for public bodies to facilitate their participation creates an affirmative duty to include these enterprises in the procurement process.

Virginia enacted a paid family leave law, sponsored by Delegate Brianna Sewell, which provides paid family leave to military families as a result of a service member’s call to active duty or impending order to active duty, including to care for the needs of the member’s child or other family member, to make financial or legal arrangements, attend counseling, events, or ceremonies, spend time during rest and recuperation following leave or a return for deployment, or to make arrangements due to injury or death of the military member. The law will take effect following the 2028-2030 biennium budget.

Virginia's 30-day compliance window for relocating homeschool families recognizes their unique needs, allowing them reasonable time to understand and meet new state requirements. It also helps prevent educational disruption during cross-state transitions.

Allowing homeschooled students to participated in JROTC programs maintains cultural connections and leadership development opportunities for homeschooled military children. Virginia's law ensures local school divisions comply with federal JROTC access requirements.
