Vermont became the 28th state to enact the Audiology and Speech Language Pathology Compact when Gov. Phil Scott signed the bill on June 1, 2023.

Vermont became the 27th state to join the Interstate Counseling Compact when Gov. Phil Scott enacted the bill on June 1, 2023.

Governor Phil Scott signed Act 64 of 2021, making Vermont the thirty-fifth state to join the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). Service members and spouses will now be able to practice under one multistate license, in person or via telehealth, in both their primary state of residence and other NLC jurisdictions.

On May 23, 2024, Vermont became the 29th state to join the Occupational Therapy Licensure Compact.

On June 1, 2023 Gov. Phil Scott enacted the Physical Therapy Licensure Compact, making it the 34th state to enact compact language.

Vermont became the 40th state to enact the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact when Gov. Phil Scott signed the compact language on June 1, 2023.

With the signing of the Social Work Compact by Governor Scott, Vermont became the 9th state to adopt the compact.

Pursuant to Title 16 of the Vermont Statutes Annotated, families who choose to Home Study their children are required to annually attest their children are meeting required academic progress. Families are also required to annually assess Home Study achievement in a routine annual assessment as outlined in 16 VSA § 166b. Similarly, Pursuant to 16 V.S.A. § 563 (24) home study students are able to integrate into public schools through enrollment in courses, participation in cocurricular and extracurricular activities, and use of facilities. Act 140 of 2022 amended 16 V.S.A. § 1073 to clearly articulate that military connected students, whose parents are being relocated due to military orders, can enroll by mail, telephone, or electronically and shall not be required to physically appear at a location within the district to register.
