Wyoming's policy of a medicaid waiver helps military families overcome the disparity of frequent moves which may place them at a disadvantage to other Wyoming residents who have stayed within the State. This policy allows military families to receive equal access to Medicaid programs.

Specifies that private employers may grant employment preference to a veteran or to the spouse of a disabled or deceased veteran. The act specifies granting an employment preference does not violate local or state equal employment opportunity laws.

The Purple Star School Designation for military-friendly schools recognizes schools that show a major commitment to students and families connected to our nation’s military.

Provides for advance enrollment, enrollment prior to arrival in the State, for K-12 children of transferred or transferring military personnel.

SF0119 provides for the issuance of expedited professional and occupational licenses to military service members under certain circumstances. This bill revises the existing program for military spouses and expands the program to provide for the issuance of temporary practice permits for military members. This bill requires the creation of online applications for licensure and professional or occupational licensing by reciprocity for military service members and military spouses.

A spouse or child of a uniformed service member who is eligible for resident tuition under subsection (e) of this section at the time of admittance to the University of Wyoming or a Wyoming community college shall not lose eligibility for resident tuition before the time of enrollment at the university or college because the uniformed service member is transferred on military orders outside of this state.
