Ms. Sliney became Southeastern region liaison in 2024. Prior to joining the DSLO, she served as an attorney advisor for the Joint Special Operations Command and, for 10 years prior to that, as an active-duty judge advocate in the Air Force. Ms. Sliney currently serves as a JAG in the New Jersey Air National Guard. She is an Army military spouse and graduate of the North Carolina Central University School of Law.

Military Community Representation on State Defense Councils Final Legislation

SB89 renames the South Carolina Base Defense Task Force as the South Carolina Military Affairs Advisory Council and makes other technical amendments to the Council's required membership, ensuring representation from all counties with a military presence. The Council's new stated purpose is to assist in the sustainment and expansion of the military presence in South Carolina and to coordinate with military communities to support mission readiness for installations and improve the quality of life for service members and their families.
