Allow military children access to registration and enrollment to a school district at the same time it is open to the general population. Waive proof of residency requirements until the student begins school.

Summary

Military families being transferred on official orders are not allowed to register their children for school until they are physically located in the school district, putting them at a disadvantage.

Statistic

About 185,000 military children change schools annually, and could miss important registration and application periods. They may then have to shift their planned courses of study, which could require them to attend summer school and even delay their graduation.
